TIAH is delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Levett as its new Chief Executive.
Jon has nearly nine years’ experience as a Chief Executive and 22 years’ experience as a senior leader working for professional associations, trade bodies and professional regulators.
His significant knowledge of leading and developing professional bodies includes governance, strategy, standards, education and building new income streams. He also has strong experience in policy and public affairs at UK and international levels.
Jon will join TIAH from his current position as Chief Executive of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), the UK funeral industry’s professional body. Jon introduced NAFD’s first five-year strategy and played a major role in helping the industry navigate the unprecedented challenges of the Covid pandemic.
His previous leadership positions have included Chief Executive of the Institute of Psychoanalysis; Head of Corporate Affairs at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA); and Deputy Registrar and Director of Standards at the General Optical Council (GOC). He is also a partner in Analyse This, an independent consultancy providing advice to not-for-profit organisations on governance and regulatory issues.
Jon will take up his post on 3rd October, succeeding TIAH’s current Chief Executive, Janet Swadling. Janet is stepping back from her post to enable her to focus on new personal and professional projects but she will remain on TIAH’s Board.
TIAH Chair David Fursdon said: “We are incredibly pleased to appoint Jon as TIAH’s new Chief Executive. He has a very successful track record of supporting the development of professional bodies to ensure they can best support industry success. His experience will be invaluable in guiding TIAH at this critical stage of its development and growth.
“We are hugely grateful to our outgoing Chief Executive, Janet Swadling, whose vision and leadership has been instrumental in getting TIAH from its inception to its current exciting stage of development. We will continue to benefit from Janet’s guidance as she remains as a member of our Board of Trustees.”
