Stephen Jacob

His career began when he joined the wheat breeding team at the Plant Breeding International, then followed a number of roles with Monsanto and RAGT Seeds Ltd before moving into farm business consultancy and practical farm management for Sentry Ltd. Finding his career purpose, he moved to the awarding body and professional membership organisation, BASIS Registration Ltd.  

During his time at BASIS he transformed the organisation from one established to support input driven farming, to one that embraces all sustainable food production systems capable of successfully operating under new agricultural and environmental legislation. 

He has a passion for continuing learning which has included gaining qualifications in both biology and business management with the Open University. This, and his time leading BASIS, made his move to TIAH a natural career progression. 

Stephen is an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies of England, Professional Member of the Institute of Agricultural Management, and longstanding member of the BASIS Professional Register. 

Outside of work Stephen can often be found hiking in the beautiful English countryside, tending his garden, or casting a fly over one of the many limestone rivers or streams in Derbyshire.
