Why it's important to develop your skills
Whether it's soil or crop health, finance, health and safety, animal health and welfare or biosecurity, improving your knowledge can help you make smarter decisions on-farm and identify new opportunities to develop.
And our online learning is designed to help you reduce waste, save money, manage your team better and increase profits.
The TIAH Capability Framework
Managers can use this framework to outline their requirements from new staff, while employees can use it to plan their skills development so they're ready to make the next step in their careers.
Why CPD should matter to you
Learning new things can give you new ideas, boost your confidence and help you enjoy your work more. Importantly, it can also help you prepare for the future, deal with market changes or new rules and regulations.
How does TIAH help with CPD?
We recommend aiming for 40 CPD points a year - that’s about 20 hours, but it's also common for employers and staff to agree targets together.
How will my learning be recognised?
You can achieve CPD points by using the Learning Hub and you'll also earn certificates on successful completion of TIAH Essential Skills courses, too. You can also record your external learning and CPD.
If you're a member of BASIS you can also claim BASIS CPD points through some of the Essential Skills learning.
Similarly, members of the Register of Sheep Advisers can receive RoSA points by completing TIAH Essential Skills: animal health and welfare (for farm workers).
