We're producing a variety of materials and resources to provide you with career guidance.

In addition to this, we're also signposting to external sources of training, information, and advice.

The following organisations are also providing materials and advice. Some are more focused on early careers and education while others will support with lifelong learning in agriculture and horticulture.

AHDB

This education-focused site contains printable materials, an online resources platform and other information in relation to the origins of the food on our tables.

Lantra

With a broader scope than TIAH, Lantra’s careers pages will enable you to look at the details of many jobs in the wider land-based industry. You'll also find useful case studies to help decide if a role is for you.

National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides careers information, advice and guidance and can help you to make decisions on learning, training and work at all stages in your career.

AgriFood Charities Partnership (AFCP)

AFCP aims to promote education and research in agriculture and food production by supporting charities that are working in the sector.

The Careers & Enterprise Company

Set up by government in 2015, The Careers & Enterprise Company aims to help every young person to find their best next step. As the national body for careers education in England, the organisation supports schools and colleges to deliver modern, 21st century careers education.

Chartered Institute of Horticulture (CIH)

This professional body offers plenty of advice on how to grow your career in horticulture through case studies and video clips about the benefits of this sector.

Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF)

This site provides teachers and farmers with support materials and training which allow them to communicate the challenges and rich rewards of working in the agriculture and horticulture sectors. It also has details of their annual Open Farm Sunday event, where you can visit a local farm and get some hands-on experiences.

National Farmers Union (NFU)

This link will take you to the National Farmers Union’s education pages, where teachers and younger would-be farmers and growers will find lots of resources, showcasing the roles of science and technology in the modern industry.

National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs

Anyone aged 10 to 28 can join a Young Farmers club and it is a great way to meet people who share your passion for agriculture. Visit their site to get more information about the club’s, competitions, trips, training and campaigns.
