Meet the youngstock manager
Meet the youngstock manager
Leah Griffiths describes more about her role at Halton Farms, the responsibilities she has there and what she enjoys most about working in the sector.
There are more roles in the dairy industry than many people realise - which means there's always scope to further develop your career in the sector.
Leah explains more about how her own career path has changed as she's found responsibilities she enjoyed - and what's surprised her about her journey so far.
What do you think might be the most rewarding aspect of Leah's job?
Working with animals can be hugely rewarding in a number of ways. From watching the youngstock play with the buoys in their pens, to helping cows give birth to their calves, there's clearly a lot to take from such a role.
And while working outside might not be for everyone, it can be worth spending some time to consider the experiences you may really enjoy in a role against those which you might not!
More opportunities to explore
Leah's shown you one of the potential paths for career development in the dairy industry, but there are lots of other opportunities, too!
You can continue with your virtual work shadowing experience to find out more about some of the key roles in the dairy industry.
