The TIAH Board is now actively recruiting for a new Chief Executive. In the immediate period, Janet Swadling has been re-appointed as Chief Executive on a part-time basis.

TIAH’s Chair David Fursdon said: “The TIAH Board is excited about the progress of the new institute, which continues to be very much on schedule to launch its services this year. Our focus is entirely on what TIAH, as a new professional body, can deliver for people working in farming and growing and the impact of this on a thriving agriculture and horticulture industry.

“In addition to developing our new Online Service, which will open to members in 2024, we have made progress in the areas of research to understand and inform actions needed to address labour gaps in farming and growing and to inspire more people to consider a career in the industry.

"We're progressing with a cross-industry careers action plan and will shortly be releasing the findings of our labour market research with recommendations on the actions required to tackle labour shortages.”

David has since retired from his position as Chair of TIAH and we thank him for his time steering our development and wish him every success for the future.
