TIAH to highlight untapped veteran workforce in panel at LAMMA 2025
We're proud to announce our participation in LAMMA 2025, the UK's premier agricultural machinery show, with a special focus on connecting veterans with opportunities in the farming and growing sectors.
On January 15, 2025, at 3pm, we will host an exclusive panel discussion titled “From Armed Forces to Work Forces” at the Farmers Guardian LIVE stage.
The event aims to bridge the gap between ex-military personnel and the agricultural industry, showcasing the wealth of transferable skills veterans can bring to farms and agricultural businesses.
Farmers and growers are encouraged to attend this illuminating session to explore innovative solutions for workforce challenges. The panel will highlight how veterans' unique skill sets - including leadership, problem-solving and adaptability - can significantly benefit farm operations.
These skills, recently highlighted by Deloitte in their thought leadership series ‘Veterans Work’ following extensive industry research, underscore the potential benefits for the farming and growing sectors. LAMMA provides the ideal platform to spotlight this opportunity, demonstrating how agricultural businesses can leverage the valuable talents of ex-military personnel.
Supporting armed forces personnel in their routes to rewarding, sustainable careers in our industry
Alongside the panel, TIAH will also be signing the Armed Forces Covenant. The covenant is a voluntary pledge demonstrating support for the Armed Forces community.
Ruthie Peterson, our careers manager, says: “Our panel at LAMMA 2025 aligns perfectly with our mission to support the agricultural sector and those who have served our country. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we're not just recognising the value of veterans; we're championing a skilled workforce that can drive innovation and efficiency in farming and growing.”
James Cameron, CEO of armed forces charity Mission Community, adds: “TIAH's commitment to signing the Armed Forces Covenant is a significant step, showcasing meaningful career pathways for veterans in agriculture. This panel discussion at LAMMA will be instrumental in highlighting the natural synergies between military experience and the demands of modern farming.”
The panel will feature experts from Mission Community, fellow signatories Cultura Connect and Tallis Amos, and veterans successfully employed in the agricultural sector.
Linking farmers and growers with veterans at LAMMA
Following the discussion, attendees can participate in a networking event in the Careers Zone, offering a unique opportunity for farmers and veterans to connect directly.
Don't miss this chance to discover how ex-service personnel can bring valuable skills and fresh perspectives to your agricultural business.
