TIAH Consultation Group meets

The discussion covered important issues including alignment with the Government’s plan for new entrants; how TIAH can support real change around health and safety; and making careers in food and farming more attractive to those currently outside the industry.

Essential partnerships

TIAH’s Founding Patron Lord Donald Curry, who chaired the meeting, said:

“It's essential that we continue to work in a collaborative way with all other organisations with an interest in a professional, skilled and progressive workforce in farming and growing.

“The Consultation Group provides an essential forum for the exchange of evidence, expertise and ideas, and we are extremely lucky to have such a diverse and high calibre range of members volunteering their time to support TIAH and its development.”

Behaviour change

Dr David Rose, Elizabeth Creak Associate Professor of Agricultural Innovation and Extension at the University of Reading, gave an insight into his research on behaviour change in farming, leading to discussion about how every industry sector can most effectively embed a stronger culture of professionalism and lifelong learning.
