TIAH mentioned at NFU Conference 2023
At the recently concluded NFU conference, the key speakers highlighted the significance of TIAH amidst the backdrop of the theme for this year, ‘Feeding a changing world.’
Farming Minister Mark Spencer emphasised the crucial role of farmers and acknowledged the importance of initiatives such as TIAH. Minister Spencer stated that TIAH is just one of the many steps taken to secure the future of farming, with the government focusing on everything from improving retention to developing skills.
Members of the TIAH team attended the conference, where business leaders held sessions on topics close to TIAH’s aims, including business resilience. Ash Amirahmadi OBE, Managing Director, Arla Foods UK, and Assad Malic, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, Greene King, gave an excellent insight into their businesses and how they build resilience. Despite both working in large corporate organisations, their lessons around incentives, collaborative working, and perhaps most importantly, living their company values to aid recruitment and retain staff are all options that we know are just as applicable to farmers and growers, regardless of their size and will be an area TIAH will be supporting going forward.
