Responsibility

Responsibility

Responsibility is being accountable for all your actions. This means not blaming others if things go wrong and, if you think something's not right, being prepared to do something about it.

Taking responsibility for your actions, decisions, and thoughts leaves little room for ‘blame games,’ and you develop better control of your life and business. Being responsible is being self-aware.

Responsibility is an important trait for professionals.

Taking responsibility

All TIAH members are asked to be accountable for all their actions – do not blame others if things go wrong; if you suspect something's not right, be prepared to take action.

This behaviour includes:

  • Always acting with skill and diligence. Diligence means always putting care and effort into the work you do
  • Responding appropriately and professionally if someone makes a complaint about something you've done and trying to sort out the matter as much as you can
  • Being prepared to raise an issue if you think something's not right and discuss it with your colleagues, within your business, or with an appropriate body or organisation
